Day-to-day of the role:- Supervise and support pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom.
- Encourage pupils to interact with their peers and participate in activities that boost their self-esteem and independence.
- Apply strategies to foster pupil independence and self-confidence.
- Provide effective feedback to pupils on their progress and achievements.
- Occasionally support pupils with Learning Support Centre (LSC) needs.
- Administer medication following appropriate training, in line with Local Education Authority (LEA) and school policies.
- Assist the teacher by providing detailed feedback on pupils’ achievements, progress, and challenges.
- Liaise with the classroom teacher to coordinate on short-term planning and specific learning objectives.
- Monitor pupils' responses to learning activities and maintain accurate records as required.
- Support the implementation of school policies related to positive pupil behaviour and learning attitudes.
- Administer routine tests and handle clerical and administrative tasks within the department.
- Experience in a teaching assistant role or similar educational support capacity.
- Strong understanding of classroom duties and pupil support.
- Ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and parents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and pupil independence.
- Capability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Relevant qualifications in education or child care are preferred.
