Vetro Education are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in the Newport Local Education Authority. The ideal Cover Supervisor will have strong behaviour management experience and an understanding of a variety of subjects taught at Secondary level. The school supports learners in Key Stage 3,4 and 5 and the school has tasked Vetro to find a Cover Supervisor, who can hit the ground running and become a part of the school's roster from day one.
The role itself is for 5 days per week, supporting Year 7, 8 and 9, as well as GCSE classes. This role is set to start in asap, and set to run until the end of the Easter term in first instance.

- Hours: Full time, Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 330pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Cover Supervisor
- Lead a classroom of learners - Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Preparing the classroom for lessons and deliver a variety of work prepared by the absent class teacher
- Maintain classroom control
- Engage learners with both classroom and lab-based activities
- Be flexible, think on your feet and show an enthusiasm for a variety of subjects
- Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies
The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Cover Supervisor
- At least 3 months experience working with children
- Ideally be educated to a degree level
- Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
- References covering the last two years (no gaps)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- The right to work in the UK
