We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer with expertise in concrete structures and reinforced concrete (RC) frame construction to join our team for an exciting large-scale data centre project in Newport. This role demands an experienced professional with a deep understanding of RC frame design, execution, and quality assurance in high-profile construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the engineering and technical aspects of concrete and RC frame construction.
  • Manage and oversee subcontractors and site personnel to ensure adherence to designs, specifications, and project timelines.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement efficient construction methodologies for RC frames.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control standards for concrete works, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Conduct structural assessments, troubleshooting, and value engineering exercises where required.
  • Prepare, review, and approve technical drawings, calculations, and material submittals.
  • Liaise with design consultants, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and problem resolution.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are rigorously upheld across all activities.
  • Manage project documentation, including site reports, risk assessments, and technical records.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related field).
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartership with a recognized institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record in concrete and RC frame projects.

Technical Expertise:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of reinforced concrete frame construction techniques.
  • Proficient in using relevant design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, or similar).
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, including Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Strong understanding of material specifications, formwork systems, and concrete technology.
