Citadel Source are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a growing B2B business in Newport to recruit a commercially focused Head of Finance. This role will help drive a robust and operationally sound finance function. You will play an integral role in the future of the finance team, deputising for the Group Financial Controller.

The Role

As a Head of Finance, the role will focus on providing clear and accurate financial information to the business to challenge and influence decision-making. You will manage the day-to-day finance operation for the business deputising for the Group Financial Controller. You will form a critical link between business operations and the internal finance function

About You

You are likely a qualified accountant with a desire to partner with stakeholders across the business while leading a team of high-performing finance staff. You have a keen eye for detail and understand what good looks like in terms of processes and controls within the business. Additionally, you will provide commercial support to the wider business.

As Head of Finance, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsibility for Budgeting and Quarterly Forecasting cycles, managing the quarterly forecasting process.
  • Ongoing management and development of the finance team while supporting the challenges of a highly acquisitive and fast-growing business environment.
  • Ongoing KPI Reporting and Analysis - Develop and maintain extensive KPI reporting to foster financial insight and stewardship across all departments. Provide actionable recommendations based on thorough analysis to support decision-making.
  • Working Capital Management - Manage working capital efficiently to ensure optimal liquidity and financial health. Identify and implement strategies to improve cash flow and reduce monetary risks.
  • Strategic Pricing and Analysis - Assist the sales and tender teams with strategic pricing decisions to remain competitive, maximise revenue, and protect profit margins. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support pricing strategies.
  • Business Insights and Action - Provide financial insights and actionable recommendations to senior management to drive business performance and strategic initiatives. Analyse financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
