Data Scientist Roles, £22 per hour (umbrella rate) Various locations - Minimum 6 month contract

Are you a Junior Data Scientist looking for an opportunity to develop your skills whilst working in a huge data organisation. We have a number of vacancies for Data Scientists to work with a prestigious public sector client for a minimum of 4 months.

What will you be doing;

  • You will focus on the development of reproducible analytical pipelines using a range of coding languages (notably Python, PySpark and R) across a range of cloud based and local platforms.
  • Use cutting edge data science analysis with the aim of producing timelier and more granular statistics.
  • You will have a passion for using data science to improve the quality of analysis and drawing conclusions.

What you can develop in the role:

  • Write code and functions in a way that is reusable, fits best standards guidance, and are robustly unit tested. (Preferably in Python, PySpark or R)
  • Create reproducible pipelines for systematic processing of statistical data, based on initial design documents. This includes writing documentation, designing and conducting tests, reviewing and managing versions of code.
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand the statistics that need to be produced and the statistical methods that underpin them.
  • Conduct data analysis and visualization of the key datasets used to ensure high quality methods and statistical outputs.
  • Apply agile project management principles to managing projects and tasks on a day-to-day basis.
