Role: Quality Technician
Location: Newport
Salary: £30,000
Shift: 7.30am - 4.30pm (7.30am - 12.30pm)
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Technician to join an established engineering business in Newport.
This market leading company operates in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and transportation, employing over 4,500 people in 22 countries.
Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities:
- Perform final Inspection, being responsible for the quality of product leaving the factory guided by job instructions, standards and specifications
- Carry out other inspection duties, such as PPI, as required, in support of production
- Carry out all laboratory testing requirements on test specimens in accordance with customer specifications and international standards
- To maintain the laboratory test specimen results database/spreadsheet.
- Compile and publish laboratory reports indicating results of test specimens as requested
- Participate in RCA at site to help decrease non-conformance trends
- Monitor laboratory data for trends and act pre-emptively to prevent non-conformities
- Carry out final release documentation checks and sign Certificates of Conformance
- Liaise with Customers and Suppliers as required to resolve issues
- Become familiar with AS9100 and NADCAP process requirements
- Liaise with internal departments to troubleshoot on a daily basis and work towards eliminating sources of non-conformance
- Perform internal audits as required to support the site’s quality management system
- Assist with maintaining and monitoring the site’s quality management system processes and approvals such as calibration, document control and training
- Operate in a safe manner and undertake any training necessary to enable you to fulfil the requirements of your position
Qualifications, experience and skills:
- Familiar with Lab procedures and methods
- Familiar with Inspection techniques
- Ability to read and follow drawings / specification
- High Level of attention to detail
- Good communication skills
Salary / package:
- Pension - match contribution from 4% - 10%
