Dedicated to delivering excellence in their industry, as they expand an opportunity for a proactive and experienced Financial Controller to join the team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by improving financial processes, enhancing controls, and leading a dedicated finance team.The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in statutory accounts, and driving process improvements. This position requires a natural problem-solver with a keen eye for detail and a strong leadership background. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the finance team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and continuously seeking opportunities to streamline processes and improve internal controls.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate year-end audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Develop and refine financial controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Lead initiatives to automate and streamline financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs to support team development
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, implementing controls and procedures to mitigate them.
  • Act as a key point of contact for financial matters, providing clear and concise financial information to senior management, board members, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting, financial reporting, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a finance team.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a track record of driving process improvements.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Naturally inquisitive, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and solving problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
