Are you an experienced Senior Finance Assistant or bookkeeper seeking that next step up.  I am seeking a Senior Finance Assistant/Assistant Accountant to step into a Finance Management role to work alongside and provide crucial support to the Operations Director in a lovely family firm. This role involves assisting with quarterly closings, contributing to the design and implementation of new financial systems and processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of the financial activities.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare quarterly management/financial accounts and reconcile lead schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Verify and invoice accrued retentions, manage invoicing, and conduct payment runs.
  • Engage in credit control by collecting specific nonperforming debtor balances and monitoring outstanding payment notices.
  • Assist in the development of KPIs and KPI reporting.
  • Aid in the preparation of monthly applications/valuations, their administration to agreed payment schedules, manage the resolution of queries, chase overdue payment notices, and ensure invoicing is timely, accurate, and complete.
  • Pensions processing.
  • Design spreadsheets and use Excel at a strong level to enhance and drive reporting procedures.
  • Prepare invoices and handle other financial documentation as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and credit control.
  • Strong understanding of balance sheet account management.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet design and database management.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
