Payroll Specialist: Newry

Permanent | Full-time | £ Salary Competitive | Office-based | Health Cash Plan

REED Finance is delighted to be working in partnership with a successful company based in Newry in the appointment of a full-time Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the smooth running of the company’s payroll function to include the following:

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently manage monthly payroll processes for both UK and EU regions.
  • Submit required governmental returns.
  • Prepare and process monthly payroll-related payments.
  • Handle the generation and processing of Bacs payments.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for new hires and leavers.
  • Calculate holiday and sickness payments.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related queries promptly.
  • Import payroll journals into Sage.
  • Process end-of-year returns and generate P60s.
  • Maintain comprehensive payroll records.
  • Stay updated with PAYE and NIC legislation changes to ensure compliance.
  • Assist external accountants with shadow payroll processing.
  • Perform ad hoc payroll-related tasks as needed.

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Strong understanding of payroll.
  • Part Qualified accounting qualification, or equivalent payroll experience
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
