We are working with an Established Mechanical & Electrical Contractor to assist with their search for a Mechanical Contracts Manager.

The Contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee and mange all the mechanical contracts from conception to completion. The role will include planning, budgeting, coordinating with clients and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Ideally, you will need to have experience in a contract management as well has having good leadership and communication skills.

Below are the key responsibilities of what will be expected day in and day out;

  • Manage the planning, execution, and completion of mechanical contracts from inception to handover.
  • Oversee all mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring they are completed to specification and on schedule.
  • Ensure project delivery within budget and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, engineers, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and budgets.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure quality control.
  • Negotiate contracts, variations, and procurement agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays or cost overruns.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

To be a suitable candidate for this role, you will need to have the below requirements;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in project management or mechanical systems are desirable.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in mechanical contracting or project management within the construction or building services industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety installations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects from concept to completion.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Project, AutoCAD, Revit, or other project management tools).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
