Role: Education Support Worker
Location: Newton Abbot (plus outreach sites)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 per annum
Long-Term Teachers are seeking an Education Support Worker for a unique and rewarding role at a small, specialist education setting in Newton Abbot. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic team committed to delivering tailored learning experiences that transform lives.
About the role:
As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people aged 7 - 16 with a range of needs. You’ll work primarily at the secondary site in Newton Abbot but must also be flexible to travel to the primary site and provide outreach support when required. A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle with at least 2 years driving experience is essential.
Key responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, fostering engagement and achievement in both academic and personal development goals

Planning and delivering segments of the learning or intervention programme, tailored to individual needs

Contributing to a collaborative team approach that supports the educational, social, emotional and behavioural progress of students

Conducting intervention sessions on-site and off-site to promote positive learning outcomes
About you:
The ideal candidate will:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or education setting

A genuine interest in supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning

Strong communication skills and a commitment to positive behaviour management strategies

Able to remain calm and professional, especially when managing challenging behaviour

Must be able to drive, have access to your own vehicle (must have been driving for at least 2 years)

Good sense of humour

Willing to be adaptable and flexible
Working hours will be 8:45am - 4:45pm, Monday to Friday, term time only.
