A Senior Electrical Engineer with experience of working on FEED projects is needed by an established engineering company to join a growing projects team

Working on large-scale infrastructure and energy projects you will lead the selection and development of electrical systems and control/c distribution schemes to provide best available technical solutions and examine commercial viability.

Some of your other responsibilities will include: -

  • Lead the selection and development of electrical systems and control/distribution schemes
  • Lead the preparation, checking and maintenance of all electrical engineering design and documentation for assigned projects using SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL) and PTW or Trimble (formerly Amtech) software
  • Lead all electrical work for project management consultancy projects including checking and commenting on engineering design and advising clients on all electrical technical matters
  • Proactively carry out engineering analysis, design, specification and procedural work
  • Supervising assigned electrical engineers and electrical designers
  • Review and evaluate documentation supplied by vendors
  • Develop design documentation in line with company procedures
  • Produce and check design project deliverables are on time and to budget
  • Support the development of bids along with the production of man-hour equipment/ materials estimates in support of the Proposals team

YOUR SKILLS

To succeed in this role you will need several years' experience as an electrical engineer in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries and a strong knowledge of the Electrical engineering aspects of various project phases from conceptual study through FEED and EPC to commissioning and operation.

Other skills sought are : -

  • Working knowledge of the content and application of codes, standards and accepted working practices in the Oil & Gas Industry, particularly European and North American codes and standards
  • Good experience in design application of electrical design software packages such as PTW, Trimble (formerly Amtech), DIALux and StrikeRisk
  • Experience working with overseas clients and external design houses
  • Experience of working in a team of engineers/designers and setting work priorities in line with project requirements
  • Good communication skills and commercial awareness

A Degree in Electrical Engineering would be a strong advantage as would Chartered Engineer status and previous experience working on projects as a Senior/Lead Electrical Engineer
