Paraplanner, The Role:I am recruiting a Paraplanner to join the team at Eldon Financial, an awarding winning Chartered Financial Planning firm based in Newton Aycliffe (DL5). Working in a small, fast paced and client focused team, in an open plan and collaborative office environment, the role of Paraplanner involves providing support to the Directors and Financial Planners, working with them to deliver an exceptional financial planning service to their clients.

The successful Paraplanner will be responsible for technical research, cash flow modelling, report writing, producing recommendations and supporting with the building and implementation of the financial planning solutions required to meet a variety of clients needs and personal goals. As a Paraplanner you will be involved in client meetings from the outset and will also have the opportunity to progress into advising, when your skills and experience allow.

Salary and Benefits:up to £45,000 (dependant on experience) + benefits including profit share scheme + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + a generous pension + life insurance + income protection benefit + free parking + early finish Friday (1pm) + ongoing professional training and development. While largely office based, we are happy to facilitate a degree of home working/ part-time or flexible working hours for the right candidate.

The Person:We are happy to consider either a well-established Paraplanner, who is Diploma qualified and possibly Chartered, or a Paraplanner who is earlier in their career journey, keen to develop their technical skills and train to become Diploma qualified and eventually Chartered (financial support with exams will be provided).

Paraplanner, responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Financial Planners to deliver a highly personalised holistic financial planning service.
  • Prepare for client meetings and reviews, work to understand the clients financial situation and use cash flow modelling to prepare and write financial plans and post meeting reports.
  • Develop relationships with clients, attending client meetings alongside the Financial Planners.
  • Undertake technical research and financial analysis to support the Financial Planners/ Advisers in identifying suitable solutions for the client.
  • Analyse portfolios, benchmarking, rebalancing and on-going portfolio maintenance.
  • Work with the administrative support team to ensure recommendations are implemented and the highest level of client service is delivered.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in the financial planning industry and contribute to development of best practice within the team.

Paraplanner, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working in a Financial Planning or Financial Advice environment.
  • A strong technology and mathematical aptitude (knowledge of Voyant and Intelligent Office is preferable but not essential)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Highly organised and methodical, with excellent attention to detail.
  • A strong relationship builder and collaborative team player with a customer centric approach.
  • Keen to learn and become Diploma qualified (Dip PFS) and Chartered, if you are not already (financial support will be provided).
