Day Shift – Monday to Thursday 8am-4:30pm / Friday 2pm Finish (flexible working hours)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance & Operations team. This plant-based role will leverage your mechanical expertise to enhance plant compliance, reliability, and integrity. You'll play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within a 24/7 production facility, contributing to new installations, maintenance strategies, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure plant compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 standards.
  • Manage day-to-day and long-term mechanical engineering and maintenance needs.
  • Design and commission mechanical modifications and installations.
  • Optimize maintenance strategies to enhance reliability and plant uptime.
  • Mentor and train technicians and apprentices.
  • Respond to plant issues and emergency breakdowns to minimize disruption.
  • Supervise contractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and related documentation.

Skills & Experience:

Required Experience:

  • 5–10 years post-graduate or post-apprenticeship experience in plant/facilities environments.
  • Familiarity with chemical or effluent treatment facilities.
  • Proficiency in PSSR compliance and project management.
  • Experience of working upon rotating equipment
  • To have knowledge of plant logistics and to have supported on site contractors

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in boilers, chillers, gas distribution, refrigeration and effluent treatment.
  • Strong mechanical design and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive and self-driven with excellent team collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and practical mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Time served apprenticeship / HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering
