SEN Learning Support AssistantLocation: Newton AycliffeHours: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Mon-Thur & Friday: Early FinishStart Date: Once compliance clearedDuration: Temporary long term with potential for permanent opportunitiesWe are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, and high-quality Learning Support Assistants to join a dedicated team supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).About the Role:This role involves supporting pupils with SEMH and SEND needs, both one-to-one and in group settings, helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.Ofsted has praised the school’s exemplary pupil behaviour and the high expectations set by staff. Pupils are taught to manage their feelings and show kindness to one another, and they value the additional support from staff and health professionals in helping them feel calm and secure.The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs
  • Be resilient, patient, and adaptable to meet the needs of students
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
  • Work collaboratively within a team and independently when required
  • Have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Show a commitment to student success and the wider school community
  • Possess good English and Mathematics skills
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
