    • £1,294 (5%) secure unit allowance or £646 (2.5%) Maple House allowance
    • £2,482 enhanced pay for unsociable hours (paid monthly)

The Role:

Brook Street Social Care is offering an exciting opportunity to work with a highly regarded children's home at Aycliffe Centre in Durham. As part of this team, you will provide specialist care to vulnerable young people aged 10 to 18, many of whom require intensive support to help them overcome complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a keyworker for young people, providing consistency and stability
  • Offer advocacy and support with sensitivity and care
  • Safeguard and challenge the young people appropriately to help them thrive
  • Administer medication and maintain accurate records
  • Write reports and care plans, utilizing your IT skills
  • Organize and lead educational and physical activities
  • Ensure compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015

Shift Pattern:

  • Rotating Weekdays: Monday-Friday (7:30 am - 2:45 pm / 2:15 pm - 11:00 pm)
  • Fortnightly Weekend Shifts: Saturdays and Sundays (8:00 am - 1:15 pm / 1:15 pm - 11:00 pm)

  • Calm Under Pressure: Comfortably handle challenging situations.
  • Empathy: Build rapport quickly and work compassionately with young people.
  • Flexibility: A 'can-do' attitude and enthusiasm for the role.
  • Care Experience: Background in care is desirable, but not essential.
