Manpower is recruiting a Workshop Controller with our client who are a successful and long standing commercial vehicle dealership.

As Workshop Controller you will be responsible for planning, controlling and delivering overall workshop performance. You will work alongside the Service Manager to oversee the running of a busy workshop to drive productivity, efficiencies and quality of work.

Monday to Friday hours with a competitive salary on offer

The Role

  • Managing and coaching a team of Commercial Vehicle Technicians and Apprentice Technicians
  • Ensuring all service work is carried out correctly, competently and within manufacturer timings
  • Assisting Technicians with technical challenges and helping them to come to the right outcome
  • Liaising with Service and Parts Advisors to update on customer matters
  • Participate in aftersales meetings
  • Determine training requirements for your team, in line with manufacturer standards

What we are looking for

  • Relevant experience in the automotive industry and knowledge of workshop practices
  • Excellent leadership and proven people management skills
  • Technical knowledge gained through technical qualification or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of HGV/LCV inspection standards & road legal requirements/ documentation
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks in a systematic manner
  • The ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues across departments
  • Proficiency in IT; all aspects of MS Office and a Dealer Management System (preferably Kerridge)
