Purchasing Assistant

Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:30

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 pa

Join our client's dynamic team, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service. As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support our Purchasing Manager and contribute to efficient procurement processes.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager by managing data, operating multiple computer systems, and coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders. Ensuring the smooth flow of information across the company is crucial, as our purchasing department operates remotely from the head office. This position requires strong organisational, multitasking, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on multiple computer systems to complete a wide range of tasks, including data input
  • Liaise and communicate with internal and external stakeholders both orally and in writing
  • Handle complex data with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and inventory, ensuring data is easily accessible
  • Prepare purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods
  • Provide general administrative support to the purchasing department
  • Any other duties as required by the Purchasing Manager.

Key Competencies:

  • You will be an experienced administrator who has worked within a busy office environment
  • Ideally you will have proven experience in a similar role within procurement
  • Strong negotiation skills and an ability to build productive relationships with suppliers
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication, organisational and time management skills
  • You will be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Strong attention to detail and data management skills
  • Naturally you will have a positive attitude and a willingness to take on challenges.
