Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join the team based in Normanton working alongside the existing members of the Transport team. You will join them on a part time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.

The Transport Planner role:

This is an ideal opportunity for someone starting out in their career.  

This position will suit a person with transport and vehicle routing knowledge or a person wishing to move into transport as a first step.

Working hours will be 12.00pm – 8.30pm Tuesday to Thursday.

Key responsibilities of the Transport Planner role:

  • Planning the drivers and fleet both onsite and at the regional out-based depots to achieve set planned deliveries nationwide.
  • Efficient routing of the fleet to maximise and maintain customer service whilst ensuring legal compliance with driver working hours and fuel utilisation.
  • Assisting the rest of the team in other functions within the office.

To meet the requirements of their Transport Planner you must be:

  • Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to manage your own work time to achieve timed daily duties.
  • Able to work within a small team.

As their Transport Planner you will also have:

  • A good national geographical knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Experience of planning vehicles nationwide would be an advantage
  • A background in transport is desirable but not essential.
