Overview
To manage a caseload of children with Education Health and Care plans to ensure that all appropriate actions relating to statutory requirements are met. To undertake casework relating to new requests for statutory assessment to ensure that the case is prepared for a decision by SEN panel. To write Education Health and Care Plans and make any amendments as required.

Duties:

  • To supervise and action the day-to-day work relating to a large pupil caseload, referring to SEN Officers and to Administration Officers as appropriate and ensuring that all processes are completed within statutory timescales.
  • To make initial judgements regarding the initiating of statutory assessments and the amending of Education, Health and Care Plans following annual review, consulting SEN Officers as necessary.
  • To produce Education, Health and Care Plans, making judgements about needs and provision in light of advice from medical and educational professionals and other agencies.
  • To deal, as far as possible, with parental concerns and representations relating to the statutory processes, consulting with SEN Officers as necessary
