Reed Finance are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Finance to lead the financial operations and drive the financial success of our client, a membership organisation consisting of over 60 businesses.  A key aspect of this role is collaborating with the leadership team to develop and implement the company’s financial strategy, driving sustainable growth and long-term value creation for the members. This includes identifying and maximising revenue opportunities while ensuring access to high-quality data to support informed decision-making, such as evaluating future funding models for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial strategy development and implementation, driving sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
  • Optimise financial processes and systems using technology to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure financial stability.
  • Lead the annual audit process, ensuring compliance and a smooth, efficient audit experience.
  • Collaborate on the development of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts, incorporating scenario planning and stress testing.
  • Manage accurate and efficient bookkeeping and ensure timely preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts.
  • Foster a culture of financial accountability, empowering teams with financial insights and commercial acumen.
  • Line manage the finance team, fostering skills development and succession planning.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role, with a strong business and financial background.
  • Qualified accountant with robust business acumen; additional qualifications such as an MBA or master’s in finance are advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in financial planning, strategy development, and leading high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based financial software (e.g., Xero, Futrli, Dext) and Microsoft 365, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and act on complex data.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness, fostering effective collaboration and team dynamics.
  • Passion for embracing diversity and leveraging it to achieve outstanding results.
  • Highly organised, with experience managing complex tasks and priorities.
  • Customer-first mindset, with a passion for exceeding customer expectations.

This role requires a proactive individual who is tech-savvy and customer-focused. The successful candidate will be expected to build strong relationships, gain a deep understanding of team roles, and align with business objectives. Some business travel will be required for member meetings and events across the UK, averaging no more than two days per month.
