Support Manager
Location: North Shields
Salary: 13.10 per hour
Employment Type: Fulltime/Permanent 37 hours
Our client is looking for a support manager to join their dedicated team. This is a north east based care provider, supporting individuals with learning and physical disabilities in North Tyneside. This role is essential to delivering outstanding care to the people they support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure all staff follow the person(s)' agreed support plan.
- Have thorough knowledge of all policies and ensure staff adhere to them.
- Always Implement and follow Health and Safety policies and legislation.
- Receive training on policies during induction and ongoing sessions.
- Manage staff to provide housekeeping support, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, gardening, and shopping.
- Support person(s) in financial management to help them live independently.
- Encourage and support person(s) to participate in community activities and local facilities.
- Facilitate meaningful engagement with the local community.
- Support person(s) in maintaining relationships with family and friends, respecting their wishes.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals involved in the person(s)' care.
- Arrange team meetings every two months and staff supervisions every three months.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships within the team.
- Develop and manage staff rotas to ensure consistent support.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate records as per organizational policies.
- Support person(s) in selecting their enablers.
- Contribute to quality assurance and the ongoing improvement of person-centred support.
- Adhere to the Confidentiality Policy.
- Use the Whistle-Blowing Policy when necessary, without breaching confidentiality.
- Ensure timesheets and related information are submitted within agreed deadlines.
The role:
- 37 hours per week
- Working Dayshifts/Sleep in on a rota
- 13.10 per hour and 114.40 per sleep in

Effective communicator with proven experience in team management and leadership.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead teams towards achieving goals.
Confident and assertive in decision-making and leadership.
Extensive experience in staff management and mentoring.
Background in working with individuals with learning disabilities or physical disabilities.
Dedication to upholding our client's reputation and values.
Relevant management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
