TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic primary school in Grays, Essex, who are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work with students with SEN. This is an exciting opportunity to join a caring and inclusive team, making a real difference in the lives of children who need additional support to reach their full potential.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to support students with a variety of SEN, including autism, dyslexia, and emotional or behavioural challenges. Your role will involve providing one-on-one and small group support, helping students access the curriculum, and assisting with their social and emotional development. You will also be involved in the delivery of tailored learning interventions and strategies to support individual progress.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
• Experience working with children with SEN (either in a classroom or care setting)
• A strong understanding of SEN, including strategies for supporting children with autism, dyslexia, and other learning needs
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children succeed
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• A willingness to learn and develop your skills through training opportunities
• Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) would be beneficial but not essential
