Production Team Leader – North Walsham

Contract Personnel are looking for an experienced Production Team Leader for a well-established, family run food and drink business to join their friendly team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the manufacturing team to meet daily production goals, ensuring safety, efficiency, product quality, and hygiene standards.
  • Conduct daily briefings, solve work problems, and monitor shift performance and KPI’s
  • Prepare reports, maintain records, and ensure hygiene standards are upheld
  • Provide cross-department support to maximise performance and handle any administrative tasks.
  • Oversee resources to maximise production output and ensure adherence to safety regulation.
  • Identify training needs and ensure skill levels within the team are sufficient.
  • Review performance trends and address efficiency issues.
  • Ensure adherence to business processes, quality, and food safety standards, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Handle Optical sorting checks, downtime reporting, and waste minimisation.
  • Support Health and Safety policies, promote a zero-tolerance approach to non-compliance, and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Contribute to environmental initiatives and stock management, ensuring accurate stock rotation and resolving discrepancies.  

Requirements:

  • Strong organisational skills ability to plan ahead.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to drive team performance.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic IT skills and numeracy/literacy skills.
  • Food hygiene training to level 2
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing (preferred, not essential)
  • Food Manufacturing NVQ Level 2/3 (desirable)

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:30pm

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
