As a Server and Storage Engineer, you will:

  • Provide specialist support for server, storage, and client technologies.
  • Contribute to the infrastructure strategy and roadmap.
  • Engage with stakeholders to meet current and future business needs.
  • Innovate and enhance technological capabilities.
  • Design solutions to meet performance standards.
  • Manage and review products and services with suppliers.
  • Follow ICT procedures and perform security risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialist Support:Provide expert support for server, storage, and client technologies within our service catalogue.
  • Strategic Input:Contribute to the infrastructure strategy and roadmap to align with organizational priorities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:Engage effectively with stakeholders to ensure our services meet current and future business needs.
  • Innovation and Improvement:Identify opportunities to innovate and enhance technological capabilities.
  • Design and Development:Transform business requirements into capabilities and develop design ideas that meet performance standards.
  • Supplier Management:Manage and review products and services with suppliers to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Compliance and Security:Follow ICT procedures and perform security risk assessments to ensure continuity of services.

What We're Looking For:

  • Technical Expertise:Extensive experience with enterprise-class server/client architecture, preferably in an emergency services environment.
  • Problem-Solving Skills:Strong analytical abilities and a knack for creating solutions that drive organizational performance.
  • Project Experience:Proven track record of working on implementation projects.
  • Communication Skills:Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of contacts, including customers, partners, suppliers, and the public.
  • Public Sector Experience:Familiarity with public sector procurement and experience in police or fire services is a plus.
  • Certifications:
    • MCSA in Server 2012 or above
    • CompTIA A+
    • CompTIA Security+
    • ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Dell/HP/EMC storage, VMWare environments, Linux, Exchange 365, Azure, Intune, Microsoft Teams, and Skype for Business.
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM, Cloud Computing, virtual network management, and Thin/Thick Client technologies.
