IT Support Engineer - £30,000/£35,000 per annum - Northallerton
Principal IT are working with a global player in the natural chemistry sector that are looking for an IT support engineer to join their team. In this role you will play a vital part in supporting their future strategy. They are looking for someone who is passionate about continuous professional development and has an innovative approach to incorporating new technologies into their operations.
As an IT support engineer you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support for the companies IT infrastructure, applications and user base at the Northallerton and Goole sites. This includes delivering local IT technical support as part of a highly skilled team, ensuring exceptional levels of availability, performance and security. Support for the Goole site is primarily remote, with occasional travel required.
The role is a 12 month FTC, Monday-Friday and a driving license is a mandatory requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support IT systems at Northallerton and Goole, ensuring IT and electronic communication infrastructure availability for all employees.
- Configure and deploy new computer and shop floor hardware and software, including ongoing maintenance.
- Provide Level 1-2 Service Desk support, assisting end users with technical issues and incident root cause analysis, escalating tickets as necessary.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot problems and outages.
- Maintain system and equipment security by adhering to group security policies and standards.
- Perform server monitoring and reporting, ensuring system availability and reliability through daily checks.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, liaising with third-party suppliers to resolve problems within agreed SLAs.
- Develop and maintain technical support processes, user manuals, and other documentation to support service delivery and handover processes.
- Support systems and applications, including Tropos ERP (internal training provided).
- Conduct data control activities to support business efficiency, growth, and development.
- Provide support to IT projects as needed, in line with business requirements.

Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in an IT support role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with fault finding experience & knowledge.
- Sound knowledge of Windows 10 & 11 operating systems.
- Windows Servers (2016 - Onwards)
- Active Directory & Team
- Mobile device support (Apple & Samsung)
- Experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Desktop O/S based environments.
The Package:
If successful our client is offering a salary between £30,000 & £35,000 per annum, favourable holiday allowance, plus many more.
