We are seeking an experienced Interim Fleet Management Consultant to support a 6-month transformation project, helping us evaluate our fleet service, identify opportunities, and drive key improvements.

  • Location: Northallerton (Hybrid Working)
  • Contract: 6 months (potential for extension)
  • Full-time preferred (part-time considered, min. 3-4 days per week)
About the RoleYou will be responsible for:
  • Engaging with the fleet team, senior management, and stakeholders to assess challenges and opportunities, advising the Assistant Director of Environment.
  • Advising and helping to reshape the structure of the fleet service.
  • Overseeing daily operations of the fleet team and workshop staff.
  • Supporting O-License holder(s) and ensuring H&S compliance for all drivers.
  • Developing a vehicle replacement programme, fleet decarbonisation plan, and savings initiatives.
  • Managing pool cars and vehicle workshops effectively.

To successfully deliver this assignment, you will need

  • Extensive operational experience in fleet management, with strong compliance and H&S knowledge.
  • Proven success in transforming fleet services within a complex organisation.
  • Senior leadership experience, with the ability to develop strategic approaches with key stakeholders
Working Arrangements

The role is based in Northallerton, where key leadership and stakeholder meetings take place. Some travel across North Yorkshire will be required, but we operate in a hybrid way (approx. 2 days in the office, with the rest remote after induction).
