Job Title: Accountant

Salary: £32,000 - £35,000

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time (Office Based)

The Accountancy & Finance Division is currently working with a superb family-owned business to recruit an experienced Accountant. This role will report into the General Manager and dotted line to the MD. As the Accountant, you will be responsible for the maintenance of the accounting function and ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Conduct data analysis, investigating anomalies and providing insightful reports.
  • Identify performance gaps and track progress on corrective actions.
  • Support the budgeting and reforecasting process.
  • Prepare and post monthly journals, ensuring reconciliation with weekly reports.
  • Review and validate monthly site submissions for compliance.
  • Oversee VAT submissions and manage year-end financial processes.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support Bookkeepers and Assistants.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Foster strong relationships across the business, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Monitor and report on daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow.
  • Manage credit control activities.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support the efficient operation of the business.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working within the finance function of a large organisation.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably Xero and Sage 200.
  • Ability to produce accurate daily and weekly reports
