The Local Authority in Bury is seeking a Year End Financial Accountant for a 3-month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The role requires a CCAB qualified candidate with extensive experience in closing and producing statements of accounts within Local Government.
The position offers a salary of £300 - £350 per day under an umbrella arrangement, with working hours from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
Candidates must have up-to-date knowledge of the Code of Practice and be able to manage balance sheets and liaise with external auditors.
This hybrid role requires one day per week in the office and the successful candidate should be available to start on short notice.

Due to timing, it is essential the successful candidate has previous experience of closing and the production of the statement of accounts within Local Government and be able to start on short notice.Key knowledge & experiences:Up to date knowledge of the Code of Practice.Preparation & production of core & supporting notes to the Local Authorities statement of accounts.Balance sheet management and the reconciliation of key control accounts.Collection Fund year-end accounting.Preparation of Group Accounts.Completion of robust and accurate supporting working papers to deadlines.Liaising with external auditors and providing explanations & background working documents when required.Requirements:The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified with demonstrable extensive experience, will be strong technically, resilient to working within a changing team, together with the ability to organise, plan & deliver their own work to very tight timelines and have a good knowledge of the detail rather than co-ordinating the closure process.
