Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the financial strategy for the UK business, aligned with corporate goals.
- Act as a key advisor to the UK Managing Director and leadership team on financial matters.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Operational Excellence
- Manage all aspects of financial operations, including UK statutory accounting, tax compliance, and reporting.
- Lead the implementation of financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, financial performance, and key operational metrics.
- Business Partnering
- Collaborate with operational teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
- Support pricing strategies, contract reviews, and project financial evaluations.
- Act as the main point of contact for US corporate finance teams, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with group standards.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, tax regulations, and all statutory requirements.
- Manage the year-end audit process and maintain robust internal controls.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the long-term stability of the business.
Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
- Proven track record in senior finance roles, ideally within an SME environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / SOX and statutory reporting requirements; experience with US corporate reporting is a plus.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project-based industries is highly desirable.
