Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and execute the financial strategy for the UK business, aligned with corporate goals.
    • Act as a key advisor to the UK Managing Director and leadership team on financial matters.
    • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Manage all aspects of financial operations, including UK statutory accounting, tax compliance, and reporting.
    • Lead the implementation of financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Monitor and manage cash flow, financial performance, and key operational metrics.
  • Business Partnering
    • Collaborate with operational teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
    • Support pricing strategies, contract reviews, and project financial evaluations.
    • Act as the main point of contact for US corporate finance teams, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with group standards.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, tax regulations, and all statutory requirements.
    • Manage the year-end audit process and maintain robust internal controls.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the long-term stability of the business.

Profile

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with extensive post-qualification experience.
  • Proven track record in senior finance roles, ideally within an SME environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / SOX and statutory reporting requirements; experience with US corporate reporting is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or project-based industries is highly desirable.
