Job Title: Interim Financial Accountant
Location: Mostly remoteStart Date: ImmediateDuration: 3-6 months (possibility of temp to perm for the right candidate)
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Interim Financial Accountant to support this finance team in ensuring compliance across key statutory and regulatory areas. This interim position requires a confident pair of hands, able to manage critical compliance responsibilities, including preparing statutory accounts, facilitating audits, and ensuring adherence to IFRS and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
What you'll do:
- Preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS for multiple entities, including UK and Ireland operations.
- Facilitation of the annual external audit process, liaising with auditors and internal teams.
- Conduct quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley testing and implement necessary improvements.
- Collate and support the completion of tax returns for Group companies.
- Oversee VAT returns and maintain control over balance sheets.
- Liaise with insurers and handle claims related to annual renewals.
- Ensure compliance with all financial reporting obligations, including group reporting and external submissions.
What you'll bring:
- MUST be ACA / ACCA qualified with a background in accounting practice.
- Proven experience in preparing IFRS statutory accounts and a strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley.
- Excellent knowledge of balance sheet management, VAT accounting, and general tax practices.
- Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel proficiency; Oracle experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
