The Company

A privately owned supplier of specialist services to the Hospitality and Catering sectors. This is a friendly and supportive family business which places excellent customer service at the heart of everything they do and has earned them many long standing and close-working relationships with national operators across all aspects of the HoReCa channel.

They offer planned and reactive equipment servicing along with full asset management and kitchen consultancy including equipment supply, refurbishment, and recycling services.

The Role

Thus is a key role in the business to coordinate the service functions and work closely with the management team. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide the analysis of Service performance and where necessary identify plans to ensure the business achieves targets.
  • Analyse the performance and quality of engineering work, client contracts and trends and key projects.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, ensuring the maintenance and consolidation of their accounts.
  • Review and manage processes for sourcing and ordering of spare parts and materials.
  • To provide an innovative approach to spares supply for clients with a focus on accuracy, price, and speed of supply.
  • To visit clients to build and develop relationships and where necessary to resolve site issues proactively.
  • To investigate and resolve escalated issues from the service team.
  • Ensure company service objectives are on-track through regular meetings with technicians.
  • Build effective short to medium term resourcing plans ensuring all active regions are staffed effectively with the relevant number of Technicians to maintain and improve on Service standards.
  • Manage the effective allocation of Service and maintenance work.
  • Review the performance of all technicians, identifying skill levels and ensuring appropriate support is provided as and when necessary.
  • Deal with customer enquires/issues as necessary.
  • Oversee and ensure the completion and reporting of the preventative maintenance visits in the timescale directed to required standards.

The Person

  • Proven Field Service Engineering background, ideally a qualified commercial refrigeration engineer.
  • Ability to oversee a small team and provide technical support to internal colleagues and externally to subcontractors and clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build strong professional relationships with subcontractors, colleagues, and clients.
  • Flexibility in your approach: 'hands-on’ with a willingness to get involved in a variety of business tasks as required.
  • Able to work autonomously, plan and deliver your workload through effective prioritising of tasks and time management.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally as required and stay away from home occasionally.
  • Knowledge of the commercial catering equipment industry and understanding of a full range of equipment.
