Assistant Project Manager – Northampton – £26,000 to £32,000 + Benefits Are you looking to take the next step in your construction project management career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and respected company specialising in commercial projects. As an Assistant Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality projects while working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for the construction industry, this could be the perfect role for you! As an Assistant Project Manager, you will:
  • Support the Project Manager in overseeing multiple construction projects from start to finish.
  • Ensure Health & Safety regulations and industry compliance are met at all times.
  • Coordinate and liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Prepare project reports, tenders, and cost assessments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Attend site meetings and contribute to project planning, problem-solving, and process improvements.
  • Assist with contract negotiations and procurement, securing high-quality materials and services.
  • Maintain quality control and compliance, ensuring all work meets company and client standards.
  • Provide support to site teams and play an active role in team development and leadership.
What You Need to Succeed as an Assistant Project Manager:
  • A construction-related qualification (HNC/HND or relevant trade certification).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • Experience in a project management, site supervision, or assistant project manager role.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety compliance and construction legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • A full UK driving license 
  • Willingness to travel across the UK to conduct site visits 
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, in line with company requirements.
