As a result of new project wins a fantastic new Design Manager role has been created within a privately-owned main contractor which specialises in super prime developments across London & the South East. The role is a full-time position offered on a contract or freelance basis.

Operating across London & the South East, they pride themselves on their commitment to excellence and their ability to offer unique, bespoke solutions to their clients. Their schemes cover private new builds and complex refurbishment and redevelopment schemes to deliver unrivalled homes.

Description

This is a Design Manager role created to lead on a redevelopment scheme in Northamptonshire. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of architectural design with some requirement to design in-house
  • Coordination with consultant teams to ensure accurate and timely design information
  • Oversight of technical design and liaison with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure client expectations are met
  • Working with the project manager and quantity surveyor to ensure the project is deliverable on time and on budget whilst retaining quality
  • Management of statutory sign offs, regulation approvals, etc.

Profile

A successful Design Manager should have:

  • An architecture background
  • Proven experience working from RIBA stage 3 to handover on D&B and traditional contracts
  • A background in producing high quality detailing within super prime projects (residential sector preferred)
  • Demonstrable technical knowledge with an ability to coordinate complex structural and civil issues
  • Excellent communication abilities to work effectively with internal and external teams
  • A keen eye for detail and ensuring quality throughout construction

You must have the right to work in the UK and will be comfortable travelling to site in Northamptonshire (2 days per week) as well as attending the London office (1 day per week).
