With a strong presence in the food, manufacturing sector, our client is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and fostering professional growth within their team.
Maybe you are an Electrical Design Engineer with experience in industrial control panel design or a Controls/Automation Engineer who enjoys electrical schematic work and system design.
If you have 3+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation and control systems, with proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for creating panel layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams we would love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities of a Design Engineer:
- Electrical System & Safety Design - Develop electrical designs for control panels, LV distribution, and safety circuits, ensuring compliance with BS EN ISO 13849/60261.
- AutCAD Electrical Drafting - Create schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, I/O schedules, and instrumentation loop diagrams.
- PLC & Industrial Networking - Design PLC wiring, I/O configurations, and integrate HMI/SCADA systems, while implementing Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP communication.
- Technical Documentation - Prepare BOMs, technical specifications, and system documentation for project reference.
- Collaboration & Site Support - Work with engineers, project managers, and clients, providing occasional on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Project & Process Improvement - Ensure on-time, budget-friendly designs while staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience for a Design Engineer:
- Experience with low-voltage (LV) distribution, cable calculations, and safety circuit design
- A strong understanding of PLC wiring, I/O schedules, and industrial networking (Profibus, Profinet, etc.)
- Familiarity with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems is highly beneficial
- Capable of designing machinery safety circuits and performing risk assessments
- Experience with instrumentation loop diagrams and technical documentation is essential
- Comfortable reading and interpreting electrical drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
