My client is a world-renowned packaging company and is a leading provider of corrugated packaging within the UK and are seeking an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to work with a strong team of maintenance engineers. As part of the team of you will provide planned and reactive maintenance of production lines and plant equipment.

Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

£45,000 - £53,518

Northampton

Shift Pattern – 4 on 4 off – (6AM – 6PM) & (6PM-6AM)

Repeated for 7 sets and this will be followed by 18 days off.

Our client is offering a salary reflecting experience with the potential to earn more through OT, 25 days holiday plus stat, training & development, EAP scheme, onsite mental health and well-being support, 6% private pension.

Responsibilities include

  • Be able to read electrical diagrams to re - wire and wire, deal with repair and replace single phase and three phase motors. 
  • You will effectively lead and service and repair the machinery equipment & assets.
  • You will be required to work on some mechanical issues including pneumatics work,
  • You will be able to replace and repair invertors, relays, AC & DC 3 phase motor Drives.
  • Commissioning of new machinery, Breakdowns, service & installation
  • You will be able to read as well as understand electrical diagrams and schematics, dealing with any electrical circuits, wiring or re wiring.
  • Understanding and dealing with the replacement of ethernet cables and dealing with 415vlt machinery.

Essential:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be comfortable with big machinery.
  • Experience of packaging, fmcg, industrial or another manufacturing industry.
  • Must be able to understand electrical diagrams, deal with single phase and three phase motors.
  • Have a good understanding of invertors, relays, and fault finding
  • Some experience or understanding of either pneumatics or hydraulics.
  • Strong Electrical background with mechanical experience.
  • A related qualification in mechanical engineering or similar
  • A HNC, HND, Level 3 or a 1–2-year City & Guilds qualification is also welcome.
