Our client is looking for a Finance Business Partner with a focus on Stock. This critical role and will have responsibility for all aspects of stock accounting. The successful candidate will interact with several internal departments, including Operations and Commercial, making it essential to communicate concepts such as gross margin variances to non-Finance stakeholders effectively.
As a Stock Business Partner, you will play an integral role within the finance team. Your primary responsibility will be managing all aspects of stock accounting, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards. You will also be tasked with providing support to branches and other teams regarding stock-related queries. Additionally, you will coach and review the work of the Stock Analyst while maintaining accountability for all balance sheet reconciliations related to stock accounting. Your role will also involve working closely with external auditors to validate balances and understand stock accounting processes. Lastly, you will identify and implement process improvements in the Stock and GMV accounting processes.
- Accounting for Stock at both a gross and net stock level, in line with appropriate accounting standards
- Completion of monthly financial submissions to provide analysis of stock movements and closing balances
- Supporting branches and the Operations and Commercial teams with stock and GMV related queries
- Coaching, reviewing the work of the Stock Analyst
- Accountable for all balance sheet reconciliations related to stock accounting
- Working with external auditors on understanding stock accounting processes and validation of balances
- Identification and implementation of process improvements in the Stock and GMV accounting processes
What you bring:
As a Stock Business Partner, you bring a wealth of experience in both industry or practice as a Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA). You are proficient in Excel & Word, capable of maintaining records on shared databases. Your background includes experience working within a Management/Financial Accounts department, specifically with stock accounting. You possess strong communication skills, able to explain complex finance policies and rules to non-finance individuals. Your ability to work under pressure coupled with your strong interpersonal skills makes you an ideal candidate for this role.
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with experience in industry or practice.
- Proficient in Excel & Word
