Macildowie are delighted to be working in partnership with a large charity based in Northamptonshire to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a fixed-term basis.
This key appointment will provide cover to the finance team whilst an existing member is seconded onto the project team overseeing the implementation of a new ERP system.
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing management accounting support across the organisation, helping to drive financial performance and provide valuable insight to the leadership team.
As part of this important role, you will work closely with various divisions within Corporate Services, manage budgets and forecasts, assess performance, and ensure that financial policies are adhered to. You will also provide essential internal and external reporting to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with budget holders to review and challenge monthly financial performance.
- Prepare and analyse divisional financial reports, delivering timely and accurate information.
- Lead monthly reviews with budget holders, offering constructive and challenging feedback.
- Support annual budget and forecasting processes, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Provide financial guidance for projects and operational development plans, ensuring spend is managed against budget.
- Present financial information to non-finance colleagues at all levels.
- Ensure strict adherence to accounting policies and propose improvements where necessary.
- Prepare internal management reports, covenant reporting, and external reports.
- Deputise for other Finance Business Partners as needed.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with demonstrable track record of providing value-add financial and strategic support to non-finance professionals across corporate roles. You will possess strong analytical, strategic, problem-solving, and organisational skills as well as an excellent technical grounding gained throughout your career. Although this role will work for a non-for-profit organisation, sector experience is not essential as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation, making financial information accessible to non-financial colleagues is more important.
The successful candidate will secure a fixed-term contract for up to 18 months and salary up to £65,000 with excellent benefits including pension, NHS-level sickness policy, access to Blue Light and Health Service Discounts schemes, 30 days holiday plus statutory days amongst others.
