Purpose Of The Role:

To complete electronically the customs entry requirements for European Road Operations in response to customer requests. Completion of customs administration whilst adhering to and complying with company and external authority and customs requirements and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Reviewing customer documentation to ensure all data sets required are present before commencing customs clearance. This includes, but is not limited to, checking information such as EORI, commodity codes, tariff information's, customs procedures, licence requirements and any other formalities applicable to the movement
Submitting customs declarations to HMRC using the appropriate software
Liaising with customers (internal or external where necessary) to obtain clearance instructions and information required to complete the customs declaration prior to shipping
Effective use of applications such as the CustomsHub and eAuth to communicate with internal customers and acquire additional information as required
Submitting transit declarations to HMRC using the appropriate software (export only)
Problem solving and liaising with appropriate team to resolve rejected entries
Positively engaging with Team Leader to ensure issues or potential issues are known within the team Checking entries accuracy and calculation of VAT/DUTIES if required
Ensuring compliance of standard operating procedures for Customs and AEO process
Direct liaison with UK Customs Manager, supervisors, team leaders and any customs authorities such as HMRC where necessary
Take responsibility for being knowledgeable with topics that have an impact on the customs department

Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
An awareness of European geography
