Senior Employment Solicitor

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Employment Solicitor to join a highly regarded firm in Northampton. The firm is seeking a skilled professional, ideally with 3 years PQE up to Senior Associate level, to handle a diverse caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters. This role offers the chance to work independently while also mentoring junior team members and contributing to the firm's strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Caseload Management: Independently manage a varied caseload from initial instruction to completion, providing expert legal advice to employer clients across a range of industries including SMEs, OMBs, and listed companies, as well as acting for employees.
  • Contentious and Non-Contentious Work: Handle a broad spectrum of employment law issues including settlement agreements, Modern Slavery Act compliance, corporate support for M&A transactions, restructuring, changing terms and conditions, and large-scale redundancy exercises.
  • Advisory Role: Provide strategic advice on Boardroom and Senior Management Team (SMT) disputes, operational HR matters, and data protection compliance.
  • Tribunal Representation: Represent clients in employment tribunals, ensuring comprehensive preparation and effective advocacy.
  • Project Collaboration: Work on multidisciplinary projects in conjunction with the Corporate & Commercial, Commercial Litigation, and Commercial Property teams.
  • Business Development: Leverage support from the award-winning Marketing Team to identify and pursue business development opportunities. Contribute to marketing efforts and assist in the growth of the firm's client base.

  • Strategic Thinker: Capable of providing high-level strategic advice and contributing to the firm’s growth and development.
