A reputable, forward-thinking and progressive architectural and town planning consultancy seeks an experienced Planner to join their busy and growing office, to head up their Planning side of the business on a Part Time basis.
The office is based in Northampton, so would be ideal for a Planner within commutable distance of the office. The position will suit someone looking for a part time role either 2 or 3 days a week.
This award-winning team work primarily across the Midlands region to deliver projects within a variety of project types, predominantly in Residential and Commercial sectors, which includes care homes, one off housing, affordable housing, flats/apartments and industrial complexes. We require an experience Planner who possesses the experience and drive to head up and develop the planning team alongside the Practice Partner.
Other general responsibilities of the role include:
- Planning applications and appeals
- Site appraisals and feasibility assessments
- Development plan representations
- Provide comprehensive and confident advice to clients and other professionals
- General project management, including project team coordination
- Mentoring and managing junior staff alongside the Planning Partner to build a strong team
Planner Requirements:
- 5 years + private or public sector experience
- Holding an RTPI accredited town planning qualification (2:1 or higher), or working towards such, together with good A Level (or equivalent) grades
- Ideally holding an RTPI accredited Masters in Town Planning
- Hold MRTPI status or be working towards it.
- Excellent written, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong time keeping and organisational skills
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
