Key Responsibilities

As a Conveyancing Paralegal, you will play an essential role in supporting the conveyancing team in managing residential property transactions. Your key duties will include:

- Assisting with the day-to-day management of conveyancing files, including sales, purchases, and remortgages.

- Handling new client instructions, conducting due diligence, and ensuring all compliance and regulatory standards are met.

- Acting as a main point of contact for clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other parties, providing updates and answering queries.

- Drafting legal correspondence and documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, Land Registry applications, and SDLT returns.

- Conducting essential property searches (local authority, Land Registry, environmental) and advising the conveyancer on findings.

- Overseeing post-completion tasks, such as title registration with HM Land Registry and processing Stamp Duty payments.

- Ensuring the conveyancing case management system is updated with accurate data and tracking all key milestones.

- Delivering exceptional client service through regular communication via phone and email.

- Supporting general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and managing correspondence.

Key Skills and Experience Required

- Previous experience in a conveyancing or property law setting is highly desirable.

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.

- Keen attention to detail and accuracy when preparing legal documents and maintaining client files.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence in liaising with clients and third parties.

- Experience using case management systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team.

- Knowledge of the conveyancing process and key property law principles (preferred but not essential for junior applicants).
