Salary: £30k-£36k per annum

Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday

Location: Northampton

Interaction Recruitment are looking for a motivated Transport Planner to join our well-established logistics client based in Northampton.

The successful candidate will have a transport background, ideally with pallet network experience.

Responsibilities

  • The handling of incoming Customer enquiries and bookings.
  • Entry and verification of customer’s consignments on a bespoke Transport Management System, and the coordination of the collection of customer’s goods.
  • Planning of local pallet network deliveries using TMS.
  • Handling enquiries, customers and drivers.
  • Scanning, Labelling, planning and manifesting of pallets for national onward transportation via the Pallet network.
  • Liaising with the loading team re loading of the trunks and time critical departures.
  • Day-to-day organisation and overview of our team of local delivery and trunk drivers to optimise performance and efficiency and updating any pallet discrepancies.
  • Communicating with customers and fellow depots to progress deliveries using our freight visibility TMS.
  • Ensuring all network PODs are complete and scanned onto the TMS.

Skills

  • Organisational Ability and Attention to Detail: In a busy and fast-moving environment, these skills are fundamental to the provision of the highest standards of service to our customers.
  • IT Literacy skills and experience are essential, but training will be given for the operation of our Traffic Management Systems.
  • Geographical Knowledge: National and local geographical knowledge are essential for this role.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with drivers, colleagues, clients and fellow network member depots in a professional manner.
  • A Flexible Approach: Because our Business operates 24 hours per day, flexibility of working hours may be required.
  • Experience of Transport Planning, Administration and Supervision would be advantageous for this role, but selecting the person with the right skills and approach is our prime objective. Full operational training will be given to the successful candidate.

The hours will be 10:00 - 19:00 and this candidate will be a designated key holder.
