We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to oversee and support the operations of our clients cemetery services team. This critical role involves supervising day-to-day activities, ensuring the efficient delivery of services, and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care.
Key Responsibilities Grounds Maintenance Team Leader
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of cemetery operatives to deliver high-quality services. Oversee burial preparation, grounds maintenance, and other operational tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate the use of equipment such as 360 excavator machinery for excavation tasks.
- Provide on-the-job training and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure sensitivity and professionalism at all times.
- Manage schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor performance to ensure operational efficiency.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role, preferably within grounds maintenance services.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
- Certification in Cemetery Operatives Training Scheme (COTS) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in operating 360 excavator machinery and other relevant equipment.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and undertake physical tasks.
