Job Title: Property Surveyor - Complex Cases
Location: Asset Management Directorate
Reports to: Asset Investment Manager

Role Overview:
The Property Surveyor will manage complex projects and perform thorough property inspections to identify issues such as damp, mould, and structural defects. You will prepare detailed reports with recommendations for remedial actions, ensuring compliance with housing legislation. The role involves collaborating with tenants, landlords, legal teams, and contractors to resolve disputes and maintain quality standards. Additionally, you will oversee repair works, maintain records, and provide expert witness statements when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct property surveys, specify necessary work, and oversee repairs to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Monitor construction projects to ensure they meet contract and safety standards.
  • Provide progress updates to tenants and stakeholders.
  • Manage documentation, performance reports, and key indicators.
  • Collaborate with contractors to meet tenant needs and ensure customer care.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in building surveying.
  • Knowledge of current legislation, contract management, and construction materials.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage a small team and work independently.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certificate and/or RICS membership preferred.
