Role: Procurement Manager

The Business: A global retailer - well-loved and known across the UK and Globally

Location: Swindon (Hybrid)

Salary: £40k - £50k + Bonus + Package

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Management: Develop and rationalise the supplier base, ensuring that our partnerships are strategically aligned with our sourcing goals in the UK, Europe, and internationally.
  • Category Planning: Manage both tactical and strategic category plans, working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives and effective procurement delivery.
  • End-to-End Tender Management: Lead and manage the full tender process (RFI/RFP), incorporating stakeholder requirements, business specifications, and key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Contract Management: Support regular contract reviews, renewals, and negotiations, particularly for small to medium-sized projects, while providing commercial, contractual, and negotiation support across the Group.
  • Cost Reduction & Risk Mitigation: Contribute to the delivery of cost-saving initiatives and risk management strategies, ensuring effective control over annual category spend.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote and support continuous improvement processes within the Procurement team and across stakeholder groups to enhance procurement practices and outcomes.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Procurement Experience: End to end procurement experience, with a strong focus on indirect categories (CIPS qualifications are advantageous but not required.)
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in contract law, contract drafting, and negotiation, with a strong analytical approach to managing procurement activities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
