A well established building contractor based in Northampton are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our small and dynamic commercial team.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects.
Support the procurement process, including tender preparation, supplier negotiations, and subcontractor engagement.
Assist in the measurement and valuation of works for interim and final accounts.
Monitor project costs and identify potential areas for cost savings.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial and contractual control throughout project life cycles.
Support in the preparation and submission of variations and claims.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support project delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.

Profile

Ideally they are looking for someone who:

Has a degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or working towards one/work experience already).
Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction-related software.
Eagerness to learn and develop within the role.
