The Opportunity

We are working as a retained recruitment partner for this exciting role. This is a unique opportunity for a construction sales professional who will sell a procurement solution to public sector bodies such as blue light services, local authorities and central government agencies. It is a fascinating solution that helps stakeholders within public sector procurement secure the best prices, best processes & support, full visibility and best pre tendered delivery partners for their projects within Utilities, Civil Engineering or Construction and across a range of projects anywhere between £200k to £75 million. Let us tell you more!

The Person

We seek a proven business developer who knows how to manage a territory and is adept at both developing current customers and hunting and identifying new partners through cold prospecting. We ideally want you to have sold either: -

A technical product or service to the public sector involving procurement.

To have knowledge of Construction projects and sales, to understand the stages of the building process.

It would be extremely advantageous if you have experience of selling construction products or related solutions to the public sector purse (e.g. materials for social housing, or maybe void property solutions to councils)

You might already be working in a sales role for a Tier one contractor and understand frameworks and bids etc.

You will have an interest in social value and sustainability and care about value for the public purse. We are looking for a positive person and a great relationship builder.

The Role

Covering the East and West Midlands and some of South Yorkshire, you will be responsible for introducing a procurement framework solution to public sector bodies in your region for Construction and Infrastructure projects. You will be researching council plans etc and identifying key decision makers in procurement teams, estates directors and project management teams. You will also work alongside the chosen contractor that is appointed on the project. Due to the nature of the role being focused on the public sector we must make clear it is a very healthy package with benefits, but no commissionable element exists in this role.
