The Role:
As a Secondary Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in their education. You will work closely with teachers, the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) team, and other staff to provide tailored support and encouragement to students who need additional assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

  • Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Help create an inclusive classroom environment by adapting resources and strategies.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver differentiated lessons.

  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to relevant staff and parents where necessary.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions among students.

  • Assist with exam preparation and access arrangements where required.

  • Support students with physical or medical needs, if applicable.
